I love how the Bible gives details sometimes where it doesn’t have to! I also love that God is keeping track and He sees all and knows all and that He is the Righteous Judge and rewarder of all! Anyways, I was reading in John Chapter 6, a very familiar passage where Jesus feeds the 5,000.

Ok, imagine this...

Are You Filled to the Brim? PDF Print E-mail

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."  Ephesians 3:14-19 (ESV)

Such a rich passage, and much could be said about it. But what recently stood out to me most was the end...."that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

Did you catch that?! All the fullness of God?! ALL the FULLNESS of GOD! Let's process such a ridiculously crazy concept after the break!

Vaporized! PDF Print E-mail

James 4: 13 - 14 says "Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"---yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.  What is your life?  For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." (ESV)

As I read this verse this morning it reminded me of a cartoon I used to watch as a kid (I am so frustrated because I can't remember the name of the show!).  It involved this action hero that had the ability to "vaporize" his enemies.  So, on Saturday mornings, me and my buddies would sit and watch this show and at some point of every thirty minute episode we would find our hero in the middle of this huge battle fighting for his life then all of the sudden he would point his finger say the word "Vaporize!" and dude, the enemy was gone.  One second he was there the next second he was not.

It Seemed Like Only Yesterday... PDF Print E-mail

I am on a vacation in Central Florida and something has occurred to me. Not really an epiphany, but a thought about life. Time goes by fast! I was driving through Orlando, and I tried to think of how many places I lived during my youth. I came up with 19 different places in 14 years. (We moved a lot!) Many of these places I drove by just to see how much they have changed. Very nostalgic <a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition> of me. I knew things would have changed, but I was blown away by how much things have changed. It seemed like only yesterday I called that my house, and that was where I used to play basketball, and that used to be where my fort was and now it is a walkway bridge, crazy. I mean I could walk up to the house that I called home, my place of rest and protection, and knock on the door and the people living there would say, get out of here you crazy stranger! (more after the break!)
